Halloween is one of my favorite times to get into horror-themed games. Whether you prefer modern graphics or classic retro vibes, there's something for everyone. Here’s my personal list of the best Halloween games to play this season.

1. Luigi’s Mansion 3

This game is my top choice for Halloween fun. Guiding Luigi through a haunted hotel while capturing ghosts is a spooky but lighthearted experience. It’s perfect for a Halloween game night with the family on the Nintendo Switch.

2. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

If you’re in the mood for something more intense, Resident Evil 7 is a great pick. It offers a deep survival horror experience with terrifying creatures and environments. This one isn’t for the faint of heart and sets the perfect eerie mood for Halloween.

3. Dead By Daylight

Dead By Daylight offers a unique multiplayer horror experience. One player takes on the role of the killer while the others try to escape. Playing with friends during Halloween adds a lot of thrills, especially with characters from iconic horror movies.

4. Dead Space - PS5

The remake of Dead Space brings back a classic sci-fi horror game with enhanced graphics and gameplay. If you’re looking for an immersive horror game with a lot of tension, this is one to try. The space setting adds to the feeling of isolation and fear.

5. Silent Hill 2 - Xbox

This game remains a psychological horror masterpiece. Its haunting atmosphere and disturbing story make it a great pick for Halloween. The fog-filled streets of Silent Hill and the unsettling soundtrack still give me chills.

6. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - PlayStation

For fans of retro gaming, Symphony of the Night is a fantastic option. It’s a classic action-adventure set in Dracula’s castle, with plenty of monsters to defeat. I love playing this one around Halloween for that nostalgic feel.

7. Resident Evil 2 - PlayStation

Resident Evil 2 took everything great about the original and improved upon it. Set in Raccoon City, you play as Leon and Claire as they navigate through zombie-infested streets and solve puzzles to survive. This game is packed with iconic moments and memorable characters. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the series, Resident Evil 2 delivers a perfect mix of action and horror, making it a must-play for Halloween

8. Ghosts ‘n Goblins - NES

This retro platformer is one of the hardest games I’ve played. Battling through levels filled with undead enemies makes it a solid throwback for Halloween gaming. It's a true test of patience and skill.

9. Aliens: Fireteam Elite – Xbox Series X

In Aliens: Fireteam Elite, you team up with others to battle waves of Xenomorphs in a cooperative third-person shooter. The game captures the tense atmosphere of the Aliens universe and offers plenty of action and thrills. It’s an excellent pick if you're looking for something more action-oriented during Halloween.
